The Truth About Making Money At Home

So how does one make money with a home business?  Well, if I could give you the answer in one sentence then of course I would but the stats show over 95 per cent of home based business attempts fail.

So why is home business still such an attractive proposition to the masses?  It’s a mystery especially when figures tell you your chances of failing are extremely high.  Here is your answer in two words; it’s work ethic.

Good old work ethic and it goes something like this.  Some folks leave their permanent job to start a home business and go into it with the mindset that now their life is about to change.  The relaxation of knowing you can simply walk down the corridor to your office without wrestling traffic is a huge factor but, this is where the problem starts.

The truth is, running a home business in the start up stage should be no different than a job.  You need to have commitment and surprise, you should organize yourself with some supervision via a mentor.

So before you look at how to make money with a home based business you first need to get a structure in place relating to how much time and resources you are willing to put into it.

A home business won’t grow and make money for you on it’s own.  Residual income can be an attractive proposition with an inter-network marketing business for example but, to getting it to the stage where it’s earning you residual income means there is going to be a definite period of sweat equity put into it.

The unfortunate truth is, most people are not self starters, that’s why the majority rely on a job which pays them for their efforts.  As much as this may hurt, people generally appreciate the idea of being supervised and want to avoid making decisions.

So when this attitude is taken into the home business environment most people flounder which means lack of effort results in lack of income.  There needs to be a mindset shift even before you think about leaving the security of your job.

Yes, you can make money working at home but remember the old analogy of cause and effect.  Without a cause then there is no effect and you are probably better off with the security of a job’s paycheck.  In other words, unless you work your business then the results will be sparse to non-existent.  It takes effort especially in the early stages.
